Official opening of Beautiful Beginnings

Official Opening of Beautiful Beginnings - Friday 17th October 2008

Beautiful Beginnings was formally and officially opened by the Chair of West Lancs, Cllr Cyril Ainscough, on Friday 17th October.opening

The project of converting what was a block of Senior school classrooms into the new Nursery has taken several months and is the result of a lot of hard work on the part of Governors, staff (teaching and non-teaching), parents, friends and volunteers of all ages. The new facilities not only look good but provide children from birth onwards with a safe, warm and attractive setting full of resources, both inside and out, in which to learn.

Following the cutting of the ribbon and the planting of an apple tree, Cllr and Mrs Ainscough, together with the many guests, joined the staff and pupils of Kingswood College Trust in a special Celebration assembly, the theme of which was the 'Circle of life'. Following the Kingswood Singers singing their version of the 'Circle of Life', the circle began with the Nursery children reciting a poem called 'Acorns' and singing about Autumn leaves, illustrating how our child care is in harmony with nature and also that our children, like the acorns, will grow into Kings(of the) wood.

Following the circle of life to the next stage, the Prep school pupils sang about school rules emphasising the golden rule of respecting each other in everything they do.

The school is all about preparing the children of today to be the adults and good citizens of tomorrow. Past pupils thus form the next part of the circle of life and Scott Chapman returned to help celebrate the opening of the Nursery and sang 'Wonderful World', 'You Raise Me Up' and 'Any Dream Will Do'. The children in Beautiful Beginnings ( the KCBBs) were so enthused by the singing that the youngest member of the family - Luc, aged 18 months - wanted to join in and was swinging and swaying along with Scott.BB OPENING

The next stage will have to wait for past pupils to marry and have children of their own in order to continue with another circuit of the circle of life by sending their children to Beautiful Beginnings.
