Exotic birthday celebrations at a Southport school included Samba dancers, fire throwers and a casino.
Nearly 300 people attended Kingswood College Trust's first
birthday bash at the Southport Road campus.

The event marked 12 months since the Trust stepped in to save the school from closure and ensure uniterrupted education for its 300 plus students.
The Friends of Kingswood presented the Kingswood College Trust with a cheque for £10000 from the fund raising since May 2007.
The extravagant marquee was adorned with colourful feathers and
pineapple shaped balloons to create a carnival atmosphere.

Women fire throwers mingled with the crowd while the Liverpool Samba band got party-goers on their feet and in the mood.
Guests were also treated to a five-course meal, prepared by the school Chef, before entertainment and party games began.
Carnival organiser and member of the Friends of Kingswood Lynne McVeigh was delighted with the party.
She said: 'The atmosphere was really good. When the Samba band came on at 10pm no one had seen anything like it before.
The band had just been to the Mardi Gras festival in Rio and they were quite something with their drums and tambourines. They got members of the audience up with them.'
Chair of Governors Lynda Headley gave a speech complimenting the school.
Mrs McVeigh said:' She spoke about what's gone on, how we're going forward and what a woderful place the school is - it was very emotional.'
