Mathematics - It's hard to believe that Set(1) have actually
taken the first of their Mathematics GCSE's. I have taught many
since Year 6. I have to say that Tom Wickstead's excuse for
uncompleted prep beat any I heard over the years; Tom arrived
complete with a plastic bag full of bits of paper "I'm
very sorry" Tom said, "but this is all that's left of
my Maths prep after my Grandma's dog ate it". Mrs Bruce
MFL - We would both like to wish Year 11 every success and hope
that they will keep in touch and come back and see us in the
future. Like every Year group, this one has its fair share of
characters who along with the headaches have provided us with some
laughter as well. The College will not be the same without them and
whenever we hear "One Moment in Time" we will be reminded
of their melodious voices filling the Chapel with joy. Good luck
everyone. Mrs Marfany & Mr Gouldbourne

ICT - I have just two words to say to you - well done! I am
proud of the way you all worked so hard to finish a truckload of
coursework for ICT. I've only known you all for such a short
time and so I don't have any funny stories from way back when,
but I have certainly enjoyed working with you and getting to know
you all. One enduring memory has to be of poor Zac who seemed to
have a curious ability to make the most reliable of computers
suddenly misbehave. I will never forget the time he told me he was
sure his computer must have a virus because some very strange and
inexplicable things were happening, in fact, every time he walked
past his computer it turned on all by itself. I think we all had a
giggle at Zac's expense, but even he saw the funny side of it.
All the best to you, thanks for being such a great group. Don't
forget to let us know how you are getting on at College etc. Mrs
Preston

Home Economics-Only a small group but a very enthusiastic group,
how will I cope without Jessica's 'Maids of Honour',
Vicky's convenience meals, Imogen's 'Toad in The
Hole' and Sam's vegetarian dishes I just don't know. I
wish them well in their future studies. Mrs Joyce
Music - Goodbye to Sophie, Oliver, Chris, Carl, Sarah ands Sean. We
have shared some laughs and experienced some tense moments but I
hope it was all worth it. You have kept us entertained with music
from many different genres. Good luck to all of you. Mrs McWilliams
I have attended many Kingswood College Proms over the years but
this year was a very special one for me. Some of the children spent
their very first day at school in my Reception class and we stayed
together right through Year 1 too. They all became very special to
me and I felt like I was a second mum to them. I later had the
dubious pleasure of teaching them all French in Year 6 - some of us
enjoyed the experience more than others! Playing bingo in French
was definitely the highlight for me - it took at least ten shouts
of 'line' before someone actually won fairly.
As I approached the Scarisbrick Hotel for the Prom I saw all the
Year 11's standing outside I was extremely proud of them all.
They all looked fantastic and so grown up. The evening went
exceptionally well. Everyone enjoyed themselves especially on the
dance floor. There were some very unusual moves - look out
'Britains Got Talent'. I would like to wish Year 11 all the
luck in the world in their GCSE's and I hope you all have a
wonderful future ahead of you. Lastly to sum up Year 11 - gone but
not forgotten. Mrs Grime
English & History - Teaching Year 11 Set 1
English for 2 ½ terms has been a memorable time for me. The
diversity of personalities in this group was unique and always made
the teaching experience interesting and rewarding. The History
group have worked hard for two years and generally shown a keen
interest and enthusiasm for the subject. This will hopefully help
them achieve good grades in the Summer. I hope that when the pupils
leave they will keep in contact with me and the school through the
alumni link on the web site which will be up and running soon. I
wish all of them the very best of luck in the future. Keep in
touch. Mr Roberts
Geography - My small group of Geographers were a
real joy to teach and our lessons were thorough entertainment on my
part. Sean keeping us up to date on cutting edge fashion and the
girls on current gossip. Despite the chore of coursework I think
they all secretly enjoyed it, Sarah delivering hers by
wheelbarrow!! The whole of year 11 have got down to some solid
revision of late, and I wish them all every
success. Good luck one and all. Mrs
Taylor
PE - Good luck year eleven in whatever you choose
to do. We have watched you grow, experience the highs and
experienced the lows. We have presented you with challenges and you
in turn have challenged us. Many of you have been here for a very
long time and it is sad to see you go. Return and visit us in the
future. Mr Wynne & Mrs Makin
Twas 6 years ago,
As I recall,
That, at the end of each day,
I'd read to you all.
Podgy, soft faces,
Barely out of the crib,
You'd eagerly wait
To hear some of, "The Fib."
You did brilliant assemblies
Again and again.
Remember the one
Where you played the old men?
(The Monty P. sketch
That Zach's dad knew by heart!)
We laughed till we cried
Right through from the start!
But now school is behind you,
And just look at you all!
Suited and booted
And handsome and tall.
You look so professional,
Dependable, smart,
So believe me, please
