The Geography Department will provide pupils with a high quality
education leading them to a thorough knowledge and understanding of
man's interaction with his environment; an appreciation of the
issues arising and an acquisition of the skills necessary to carry
out their own investigations.

To achieve this, pupils will be taught, guided and supported; offered a broad and balanced curriculum conforming to but exceeding the National requirements; and through appropriate resourcing ensure equality of opportunity for all.
It is the aim of the Department that all pupils shall acquire
knowledge and understanding of places, processes and issues and
develop a range of Geographical enquiry skills. The teaching
methods employed should facilitate each pupil to maximize his/her
own potential. In this way it is believed that each pupil will
develop an interest in his/her surroundings and become a more
informed and responsible citizen.
All pupils will be taught in mixed ability groups but the level of work will be differentiated according to ability. Candidates proceeding to GSCE level will be entered for AQA specification A at the tier appropriate to the ability.
