Helicopter rides

The best day ever!

On Wednesday morning last week I went to school with some money to buy a raffle ticket. I didn't know what the prize was, which made it really exciting.

On Thursday we had lunch and went out to play when Miss Mapstone came and called for Olivia, Jake and me! She told us we had won the raffle - my head was screaming with excitement, I couldn't believe my luck.

We went outside to the marquee because Mr Borowski had to ask ou parents' permission to go for a ride in a HELICOPTER! My Mum said ''Yes!'' Woo pee!!!

The next moment the three of us, plus Mums went with the pilot to the helicopter; it was blue with a big propeller and a small one at the back. It had cream seats inside. I got to sit in the front and the others got in the back. We had to wear ear muffs because of the noise, and a microphone so we could speak to each other when we were flying. We went over fields, then our house and over the sea. The pilot let me take the controls. It was amazing. When we came back my legs were a bit shaky but I would do it again. I would like to thank Mr Borowski for a wonderful time I will never forget and also for making my brothers really jealous. Jessica Janvier Year 3

On Wednesday 17th June we had a raffle in school. I had £1.50 on me but wanted to get a drink so I borrowed £1 off my Uncle Lindsay. On Thursday I was called out of class and told I had won a ride in a helicopter. I could not believe this. I had seen the helicopter when we went out to the maypole but I could not believe I was actually going in this. Who goes to school and gets called out of classs to go into a helicopter? I certainly didn't think this would happen to me. We went out to the big blue helicopter, the pilot gave me headphones and strapped me into the seat. The pilot was very funny. It was very noisy and very exciting. My Mum, Nan, Aunty Zoe and Zoe's Mum, Lillian were all at Ladies' Day so they were able to come out and see me. When the propellers started my Mum nearly lost her hat. We flew all the way to Southport beach. I was looking down for my Dad at home but could not see him. My Mum had rung my Dad to tell him to look out for us. My Dad did see the helicopter but I did not see my Dad. It was such an exciting ride and one I will never forget. I would like to say a very big thank you to the owner of the helicopter and to my school and Mum for allowing me to go. Jake Whiley Year 5

On Ladies' Day I found out that I had won the raffle. When they told me it was a helicopter ride, I couldn't believe my ears. I was so excited I nearly cried. The ride was amazing. We went 1000m high and I could see Blackpool Tower. I am so glad I won, it was my best memory of school so far!! Olivia Devaney Year 2
