Modern technology is changing the way we live and work. Pupils need to learn how to manage it all, - how to access information, store it, share it with others and tailor it to their own needs. Information and Communication Technology lessons provide them with these essential skills

Facilities
Kingswood College Trust has two ICT suites each with 20 networked PC's. Both rooms are equipped with an interactive whiteboard, data projector and colour laser printer.

ICT at Key Stage 3
The programme of study followed at this Key Stage meets the National Framework for ICT. The themes that underpin this learning are:-

  • Developing ideas
  • Communicating information
  • Evaluation

ICT at Key Stage 4
Pupils opting to study ICT to GCSE level follow the AQA Information and Communication Technology A Syllabus.

The GCSE course is weighted as follows:
Coursework Project 1: 30%
Coursework Project 2: 30%
End of course written examination: 40%

Examination Results
The GCSE examination results this year were outstanding with 100% of pupils achieving A* - C grade. Of these 40% achieved A* - A grades compared with 21% nationally.
