Kingswood Olympiad
Kingswood Olympiad - Thursday 3rd July
In this Olympic year the annual Sports' day was held at Edge
Hill University and organised as a whole school event with field
and track events all taking place throughout the day. Every pupil
in the school from Acorns to Year 10 participated with each Junior
and Senior school pupil taking part in 2 Field and 2 Track events.
All Nursery and Infant children were involved in their own team
games.
The whole day went according to plan until the heavens opened.
However this did not dampen anyone's enthusiasm and the races
carried on.
At the end of the main field and track events all pupils gathered together in their Continental teams for a grand parade around the track. Each team consisted of pupils throughout the age range and they had all been busy preparing their banners and flags and in the case of Africa, their head bands and tiger skins. Following the parade the Continental relay took place with each age group being represented. This was a fine example of the family atmosphere and team spirit which exist in the school.
In true Olympic tradition a medal presentation Ceremony followed
with gold, silver and bronze medals being presented to winners in
all events.
