Music

Music is taught throughout the school from Nursery to the end of Key Stage 3. At Key Stage 4 Music becomes optional and the AQA syllabus is followed as a GCSE course. Scholarships are awarded to talented musicians and instrumental tuition is given across a range of instruments.

Music enriches the life of the school with regular concerts and lunchtime recitals.

The Christmas period included two performances of 'Winter Wonderland'. Pupils from Year 2 to Year 11 participated in a Christmas extavaganza ranging from some well known Christmas favourites such as 'Winter's Tale', 'Sleigh Ride' and 'Winter Wonderland' to some more traditional songs from the Junior Choir and Scarisbrick Singers and Year 2 rapping to 'Santa Wrap'. Various readings of Christmas poetry and two very amusing nativity stories helped to make this event a great success.
