Duke of Edingurgh Award Scheme
The Duke of Edinburgh award has formed a successful and valuable
element of the extra-curricular activities on offer at the College
for many years. Pupils undertake the four key areas of skill,
service, physical recreation and expedition to complete the award
at Bronze level. Pupils in Year 10 enroll and are encouraged to
complete all areas by the end of Year 11. There is the opportunity
for those interested to embark on the Silver award.
The expedition is always an
enjoyable aspect with pupils completing a twenty-two kilometre walk
over two days, carrying all their camping equipment and food,
usually in inclement weather. It is certainly a character-building
experience!
