Schools celebrate league table success - Visiter January 14th 2010

Kingswood College Trust in Scarisbrick was the best performing school in West Lancashire, where 91% of its 23 students got five or more A* - C grades.

Eric Borowski, Principal at Kingswood, said: 'We were thrilled when we got the results and they brought tears of joy to so many of the pupils who had worked so hard to achieve their best.

'Staff, parents and pupils were all delighted. We strive for improvement all the time and are always seeing if we can improve the performance of individuals.

'We are a specialist school for teaching people with dyslexia and 10 pupils in this Year group had specific learning difficulties. Their results speak volumes because they all got A* - C grades in English and between 7 and 11 GCSEs at A* - C grades each'
